#23 Is this really the end? Or just the beginning....

I just wanted to thank CTLS, Tocker Foundation and Kam McEvoy for sharing this program with us all. I learned so much from all this. I really enjoyed chatting with fellow employees and helping each other with the different stuff we had to go and learn and blog about. My most favorite thing was creating a Avatar (http://www.meez.com/) i had so much fun doing this, i also created some avatars for other employees here. I also had fun looking at all the different pictures on flicker (http://www.flicker.com/, i found alot of my pictures on google images (http://www.google.com/). I probably will use alot of the stuff i have learned from this course in the future. I think if we where asked to do this program again i would do it beacuse i have learned stuff that i didnt know before so i would be familiar with it.

Audiobooks

I went to LibriVox and listen to the audio "Alice in Wonderland". It was pretty easy to get to it, i had a little trouble getting it to play but Mary Jane knew what to do. I really enjoyed listening to it i loved the video when i was younger. I did not know we where able to go to that website and listen to audios online, it was kinda cool. I dont have to much time to sit down and read a book so this is good that you cand just go to http://librivox.org/ and listen to any audio you want. I will be returning when i have time and listen to some more audios.

Podcast

I went and searched podcast, i think it is similar to you tube. But the difference is that podcast you are able to subscribe to it or even look at them for free you are even able to send them to anybody you want. You tube you cannot and can only view it on there website. I did not know about this web page. I think i will come back and explore more things on podcast.

You Tube

You Tube....is a pretty cool site i have lots of fun looking at all the different videos. I think my favorite videos are when babies are laughing i think they are so cute. There are alot of disturbing things on here that i do not care to much for, but i do enjoy looking at the videos. One of my friends added a video to you tube it's pretty funny.

2.0 Awards

I had lots of fun exploring this site. I went to Music and saw Pandora Radio it is similar to Yahoo music. But it was cool all i had to do is put in a artist name like Carrie Underwood and it came up with all her songs including her new song "Just a Dream". It is something i will go back and visit. I like to listen to alot of different music.

Zoho Writer!!

I went into Zoho and made a account. It is pretty cool that you can go to that and work on different things including: Word Processor, you can also do a presentation on it. I think it is good that this is here just in case some people do not have these things installed in there computer.

Playing with PB Wiki Sandbox

It was pretty easy i opened up a account. I picked two favorites one was Favorite books and they where Mistaken Identity and 90 Minutes in Heaven and my favorite Movies are A Walk to Remember, The Notebook and Sweet Home Alabame. It was neat to add my favorites to share with other people.

So what’s in a wiki?

Wiki is pretty cool! I never knew it was out there. I think it is similar to e-mail but you are able to add and edit things that are on wiki, and on e-mail you are not able to edit anything that was sent to you. Wiki is something that i might use in the future i can talk to friends about a party that we are planning so everyone knows what can or needs to be brought. Or even we i need to plan a trip with family it is cool how you can add links to search different places and locations on your upcoming event. I am going to keep exploring it to learn more things about it. I will defintley be using Wiki in the future.

Transparency Tyranny

I read about Transparency Tyranny. Camera and Video Phones are very alike. Cameras of course you are not able to use as a phone , but they are changing so much for example the size of cameras some are small like a i-pod and some of them are big. There are so much now you can do with a camera you are able to video tape anything and download pictures to your computer and you can change the picture to different colors or sizes. Now video phones you are able to do so much with video phones, you can take pictures and send them to friends by text messaging, you can now even download videos to your phones. Phones also come in different sizes small or big. A video phone is similar to a camcorder. I think it is good that libraries are able to use cameras and even sometimes video phones to capture events that are going on at that library.

Technorati and Tags

Learning tags is very easy it is similar to the title. It is easy for looking stuff up and and exploring new things. The different between post and tags are that there are more things to do with post than tags. I did a few searches on Blog Directory to look up different pictures. There are alot of cool pictures on there. It is good that i know about it for the future.

I visited the website Delicious it was kinda confusing at first. Then a friend and i watched the video and explored the website we got the point after looking at somebody else account. I think it is something good to have especially for teachers. I dont think i will be setting up a account for myself but it is something good to know.

Online Gaming

There are so many games out there to explore i need to sit down and play around with them. The two games that i choosed where Solitaire and the other is Jigsaw Puzzles. I had to remember how to play Solitaire i haven't played that game since school. Now Jigsaw puzzles i love doing those when i have time i like putting them together at home. I really enjoy playing games i wish i had the time to play more.

MySpace’s Music

I did not set up a myspace or a facebook account, alot of kids do come into the library to check there myspace i think it is just for fun to put pictures and chat with friends. Facebook i guess is similar like myspace to chat with friends with pitures. I need to explore facebook alittle more. Instead i just looked at myspace music. I like a variety of music like Country, R&B, and Gospel.

Chat & Instant Messaging

I had lots of fun Chatting with friends, chatting is just like email, it's very easy and something new to do instead of using the phone. I enjoy doing this to keep in touch with family and friends. There are so much new to discover on the internet. It is very easy to keep up with the other person you where chatting with.

Finding Feeds

I added another one so i picked You Tube because there are alot of cool videos to look at, example i put in laughing babies and it came up with lots of babies with different laughs that were cute and funny. It is just a new website to discover.

More about Really Simple Syndication

Linking all of your favorite sites together on one page saves alot of time instead of typing in the site. I first picked was CNN becase i like to know whats going on in the world like breaking news, sports and my horoscopes.
I picked Yahoo because i use it for checking my mail, looking up directions, i can listen to music checked the weather i also enjoy watching movies on there.
Austin American Statesman give lots of information like area deaths, horoscopes and latest news and also to keep up with the weather.
